Acne
Acne starts with a blocked oil gland (pore), which is actually an oil chemistry problem. When acne occurs, the oil is too thick or waxy. Instead of flowing, it forms a plug. These are flat blackheads, which are the first stage of acne.
Trapped behind the blocked oil gland is bacteria. Whenever bacteria is trapped behind a waxy, plugged oil gland or pore, it is a perfect situation for bacteria to proliferate. At this stage, acne appears as a pustule (white pus in a bump on skin) or a bump (bacteria underneath skin without visible white on surface).
The secret is to "get ahead of acne" and prevent the acne blemish from forming in the first place.
