All you need to know about celluilite...
1 Where does cellulite come from?
Cellulite is an accumulation of fat in the skin’s cells. They can store up to 100 times their volume! These cells group together and are surrounded by a network of fibres that harden the skin tissue: these are the fat cells with their dimpled effect. With poor circulation and insufficient drainage, they are accompanied by water retention and a feeling of tired legs.
2 Why does fat accumulate in our cells?
What we eat provides energy for the organism. If we eat more than is necessary, the organism stores the surplus in the form of fat. Everything is a question of balance: if you store more fat than you use, cellulite and fat cells appear.
3 Can you be thin and have cellulite?
Cellulite is not necessarily associated with being overweight. “Thin people” can have an accumulation of cellulite located just beneath the skin.
4 Can a diet remove cellulite?
As we do not lose weight where we want to, a diet will not result in specifically removing fat cells. However, limiting the supply of fatty and sugary food also reduces storage. However, if we reduce its food supply too quickly, the organism believes it is in a period of “famine” and reacts by storing more.
5 Why use a slimming cream rather than the usual lotion?
If it has a caffeine base, the main slimming agent whose actions are scientifically proven, the slimming cream attacks the cellulite and improves circulation. It smoothes out the dimpled skin and tones it up. But that’s not all, certain slimming creams also moisturise and improve the look of the skin without leaving white marks.
6 How can I stop the feeling of tired legs?
Water retention is a typically female problem. It is linked with cellulite problems, oedemas of varying degrees, which may be painful and appear especially after a long period of standing or sitting. The solutions are simple:
- Drink plenty of water with added draining solutions to eliminate it.
- Massage the legs and thighs working from the bottom to the top in the direction of the circulation.
- Apply cooling gels meant for “tired legs”.
- Complete the shower with a jet of cold water on your legs.
- Avoid trousers that are too tight.
- Walk and participate in sports
7 What can be done to combat the unsightly appearance of cellulite?
The solution is moving, conscientiously massaging the areas concerned and applying special “slimming” creams which smooth away the dimpled skin and even out the surface.
